Creativity + Voice + Coaching = Artistic Life
For as long as I can remember I’ve been happiest when I’ve been creating.
Whether that’s writing, painting, photography, singing, or theater, when something inside me gets out through a certain expression, I feel like my true self. As if my authentic voice is sounding out into the world.
I called my first book of poetry (a chapbook ) VOICE HUNTING. I toiled over that title for a while, but finally settled on a poem title that felt as if it expressed more than a single poem’s meaning, or even the theme of a single collection of work. Hunting a voice (call it: purpose, focus, life change, skill pursuits, self-improvements) represents an arc over a lifetime, of searching out who we are in our work, both expressed and yet expressed.
My voice? Now that I'm putting my "money where my mouth is"? That changes over time, but it has a lot to do with creating with others and helping others create.
